'06 last year for banshee
Somebody left you out of the loop Ryan. theyre banning the production of two stroke atvs, on the grounds that they create too much pollution. they arent banning the use of two strokes, thats too hard, theres too many of them, theyre just making it so that they cant be produced anymore. i dont know any of the fine details or if theres any exceptions, though. sucks dont it? thats why im getting my shee in '04.

lol...I asked one of the five sales people at my dealer when does he think yamaha will stop making the Banshee and he said "why would yamaha stop making the banshee? They are still selling great. I don't see them stopping anytime soon." LMAO what a moron!
Also I have a question. Will yamaha still make parts for the banshee? Or do they have to stop making those to?

Yea I would assume 05 will be the last year for the Banshee as we know it. I sadly doubt it will be a record breaking year or anything. Remember many people prefer 4-strokes and with the YFZ450 the Banshees sells will get lower and lower. That is one reason why I bought a Banshee now instead of waiting another year though because if they did happen to be in high demand because of the last production year I would imagine the dealers would probably mark up the machines at least $1,000.
If you want a Banshee buy one now or in the next few months, you won't regret it! I just wish I could have bought a brand new Tecate 4 before they where discontinued

Yamaha could still produce the Banshee...a customer won't be able to green/red sticker it...it would make the modela closed curcuit quad only
If a manufacturer is currently producing a 2 stroke they may continue under those and a bunch of other regulations
Now do you think they will sell enough closed course quads to turn a large enough profit? NO
As for parts...that dinosaur has been roaming the Earth so long there isn't a part you can't get aftermarket anyhow...but I'm sure Yamaha will continue to sell parts
