Default Best/cheapest mods for BLASTER

I have a 2000 blaster. I added a fmf fatty pipe and power core 2 silencer, uni filter, boyesen power reeds and 1/2 inch reed spacer. Is there ANYTHING else I could do to make it faster other than boaring it?

Do you mean to get a new carb? I already jetted this carb from stock 230 to a 260. Any other ideas?

i bought a 12 tooth sprocket for my 04 Blaster and i did gain quite a bit of power and didnt loose much speed that u could notice. Also if u dont live or ride through deep water(up to air box) then take off your air box lid i did that i gained power and made it sound really kool

jeeze, your running a 260 main in yours??! where do you live, in the sky? lol
I have a 310 in mine.
cheap cheap gain for about 2 hp in low end- remove your air box lid. you say you have a 260 in it now? ok bump that baby to a about a 280 and see how it runs.
then if you want you can go get a sproket
after that your going to have to spend a lil money. the next cheapest thing for some good gains is a piston. Get a wiseco super stock forged piston kit. Vito's sells it. the forged kit goes for 140$. it will give you 5 to 6 hp mid through top end. go for it! or you could carb it with a 30mm either way. the carb runs like 170$
are you sure you're only running a 260 in that beast?

I live in Tn. I am worried that the jet is too big. How can you tell if it is too big? I thought about porting and polishing the heads. Would that help?

How many teeth does the stock front sprocket have anyway. I REALLY dont want to loose any torque though. I do still use it to 4wheel.

Right now it seems like I dont have any low end torque. After the power band kicks in then it flies but until then it sputters. What could be the problem?

I'm willing to bet that you are running lean. that's why your bike sputters and has no low end torque. when mine was stock and i removed the lid it did that. I jetted it up to a 240 instead of the 230 and I had no more sputtering and popping. does it sputter and pop when it's cold to? then yep it's lean. you can tell it's lean if it sputters and backfires any. If you are to rich you will notice a loss of top end power. but running a lil rich doesn't hurt. i stillc an't beleive you're only runninga 260 main with that pipe on it! a main jet costs like 2 dollars. try it. try like a 275 or 270. the best way to tell if your lean or rich- spark plug check. it tells u how to do in the owners manual

stock, the front sproket is a 13tooth. if you get a 12tooth you will get a bit more torque.

Once you get the jetting dialed in, you can try a 4 degree advance crank key for more low and midrange. They work pretty good, I put them on both my blasters. Except one of them sheared, and retarded the timing, why I don't know, although the offset key has less structural integrity. Anyway, a $25 key makes you some good low end gains, very noticeable.

Ok, last night I installed the reed spacer, boyesen power reeds and took the airbox lid off. Now it will FLY, I am VERY happy with it. But it does still sputter at the low end but top end it just cutts loose. I am still using the stock oil injector and have a 260 main jet. If I go up in the jet will that mabe mess up the top end? I really just want to fix the low end. If it is running lean, does that mean it isnt getting enough oil or not enough gas?
