Default Piped Raptor Vs. Stock Raptor

Thanks for all the replies. I am going to try putting in some 160/165 mains. Right now I am at 170/175. My airbox lid is cut so that almost the whole filter is exposed. I beat him on grass by 3-4 lenghts one time, but on the dirt where the traction was no very good it was closer. My raptor does not seem out of tune, it is responsive and does not bog or hesitate. I guess it is possible to be a little fat on the mains without any obvious symptoms. I am going to check th valves before I start rejetting, to rule that out first. My plug is black around the rim and first few threads, but the porcelain is a good brown color. Some people say read the porcelian, and some say the rim should also be brown/tan color. I checked a few aftermarket sites, and Trinity says the rim is what should be tan for optimum performance. Nex Tuesday is when I plan on rejetting. I will let you know how it turns out. It might be hard for me to tell a difference without racing the same raptor, since my raptor does not seem to run sluggish now.

Default Piped Raptor Vs. Stock Raptor

Gary, instead of always being an internet gangster, lets meet up and discuss it. If you know so much about drags then why did you post a question about 300ft drag preparation on the forum. I HAVE raced piped Raptors and stock Raptors in the 300ft grass drags. A 300ft race is so short that a z-400 Stock can beat a piped raptor or DS650 if you screw up the start. A mere difference of .20 secs on your reaction time is all it takes for you to go home early. A 300ft race is usually won in the first in the first 60 ft. I have lost to z's before because I was asleep at the tree. My top speeds and ET time were faster but he got the jump on reaction time and won. Reaction time is EVERYTHING in the 300ft distance. Now go to a longer race like the 1/8 or 1/4, acceleration and top speed is way more important than the start. And one more thing Gary, to be the most effective in the 300ft it is almost mandatory to strap or chain down your suspension to be the most effective on the launch and maybe fabricate a removable wheelie bar for top throttle launches. So instead of throwing barbs, bring your little B*TCH A$$ around with your craptor so we could go a few rounds of dragging followed by a few rounds of my favorite, bare-knuckling. PUNK B*TCH. Have a nice day.

LMAO! I don't think you have read my comments in this post.....I give first hand info concerning a piped Raptor against a stock Raptor....and again, I own a Raptor. I don't remember claiming too know everything about drag racing and the tricks racers use too make their quad quicker in 300'?? You finally "supposedly" get a quad and you know everything about someone else's quad performance wise? Please. Who is really the punk b$$ch? You are the one that wants some of my bike and me....PM me and I will send directions and a time when it's convenient for me....I am not that far away. Make sure and bring a friend.
