New school quads versus old school? What's better?
#1
What do you guys think is better, the old 80's performance quads, i.e. 250R, Quadracer, Banshee, Zilla, Tecate 4? Or the new school quads, i.e. YZF-450, 450R, Raptor, Z/KXF 400, C-dale, Bomb 650, V-force?
I was an old school guy until I just got my KXF-400 (second hand), I can't believe how far quads have come. I love this quad. It's like my bro's '92 Quadracer, power and speed wise, but it is way more comfortable and refined, rides better, and has a motor that can haul butt or putt along. Plus I have to have reverse (it's got it) and I hate, just hate, to admit that I like the electric start. It's hard to give in to being "lazy". Anyway, this quad is amazing.
So... have the old school quads finally been surpassed? I think so.

Sorry Guys!!!!
I'm gonna have to go with my 250R!!!! I just recently got a yfz 450 and I would rather race the ol' R!!! I admit the 450 make the R ride like a wagon with square wheels, but my 450 still feels like a blaster on steroids!!!!! I'm sure once I get fully adjusted to the NEW 4-stroke, I'll start saying new school! Until then though, I'll have to stick with my girlfriend(250R)!!!!!! The new technology is great though!!!

I was saying old school, having both, when I want to ride hard the ol' 250 is just so easy to throw around. That is, until I hopped on a YFZ. No comparison, and it's not a heavy pig either.

OLD. How did we start out with quads like a Suzuki Quadzilla 500cc 2 stroke and end up being excited about a couple 450cc 4 strokes? It's like paying with a $50. for a $10. item and getting .03 back in change. (Well maybe not) It just doesn't seem like we're going forward, only backwards or slightly sideways.
I'd rather have an old 250R.
