I just dont see the allure of 3000 grand cash over 3500. I would tell the person to go sell a kidney and come back to see me when he has 500 more bucks. Some people though are very short term orientated and will take it I guess.

What else is somebody going to take other than cash? A check? yea right. Beer cans? Cash or certified check is the thing anybody that isn't totally naive will accept.

What do you mean by this? Do the dealers get some kind of kick back or something?

Thanks

I think that "cash talks" if the amount of cash happens to be within the amount wanted for an item. If you try to get people down too much they'll tell you to take a walk. You can offer a low amount and when they tell you no, just ask them to call if they change their mind.
If you're buying from a dealership, they might give a decent price on a quick cash sale but the manufacturer or/and dealer makes more on a loan or credit card. If you are going to pay $7500. (just for example) cash, then the deal is done. If you're going to pay $7500. at say 6.9% for 4 years you'll have a monthly payment of $179.25. You'd end up paying an extra $1103.96 in interest for a total cost of $8603.96. Loan or credit card, they make an extra $1103.96 off of you. Telling a dealer that you want a cash deal doesn't impress them much because they want more of your money.
You can get a better cash deal from a private person if they're in need of money or they've been trying to sell for a while. But with a private person, if you get a loan, they still get their cash. Just not as quick.
It's really a matter of how fast they want the money and how desperate they are for the money. More or less of it.
