Default Blaster, Are they Junk?

I'm wonderin if a blaster is junk or are they good bikes, the reason is because i'm thinkin about buyin a 94 blaster for $800 that needs new rings put in it. I've always heard that they are junk and they blow up all the time cuz of their oil injectors. Someone please help me with this. Thanks.

Blasters are good machines. I have a couple for my kids. The oil injection works fine. They are simple and reliable, and easy to work on. All models up to 2003 have mechanical rather than hydraulic brakes, which aren't the greatest, but they work. Have no fear, get that one, and the aftermarket is big too.

ive never had a major problem with my '94. get the block off kit because sometimes the injectors do mess up. if it only needs rings i would get it.

The Blaster is a good quad, that's why they've sold a kazillion of them. Mix your own gas if you don't trust the injectors. For the guy who's brand new quad blew up, that's why they have warentys

Ok, are rings hard to put in a blaster engine? I've never opened up a quad engine before or even any engine for that matter. I think i'm gonna have to get a service manual or have someone at my local yamaha dealership do it for me if i get the quad.

Top end on the Blaster is as easy as it gets.
I would send the cylinder off to a reputable shop and let them check it and machine as needed.
Then let them provide you with the proper piston.
Buy the Yamaha Manual it is good.
