Can I put a Tachometer on my Raptor? Are they hard to install? What exactly do they hook up to so they can tell whay RPM your running at. I think it would be cool to know what RPM your running at while racing and, just playing.

Also, does anyone know where to get one? I could only find one (at Ron Woods Racing) but, it was a ripoff at $225. Can you just get on at a Autoparts Store?

Try Auto Meter, Im sure it wouldnt be that hard to install. Bombardie SP has autometers installed on the baja models. I think it would be hard to watch while you are actually moving though...

Check my pics. I have the RWR one. It was a simple plug in installation and works great! I would go with one specifically made for 1 cylinder bikes, no headaches. Also, the RWR already has the right plug in for the CDI.

I had a needl e style Tach on my Raptor. I got it from High-Lifter, you know the 4X4 quad people. They recalibrated it for the Raptor. I had it in about a week and it was onlt like a hundrede dollars. All I has to do was splice in a wire to the key switch and one going to the ignition. It also had an hour meter built right in. It is really a nice unit. Hope this helps.

Compact, ultra fast, digital tach w/ programable 9 LED shiftlight, good to 13,000 rpm, and works on any ignition pulse from 1-6. Survived a full harescramble season.

Could I put this one on? It lights up blue (the color of my Raptor), it is not to big and, is only $99..... or, do i need a special one to handle the "Elements"?

Also, where is a cool place to mount it? I never thought i'd say this but, i wish i had the mini console like on my friends DS 650 Baja just for a tach.

Todays machines can be easily modded to surpass a 10,000 rpm limit.
