What Grips do you like best?
#22
Blisters are mostly caused from how tight your holding on , if you want to avoid blisters then relax that death grip and wrap some medical tape around your hands.
gel grips do help some but increase arm pump cause they make you squeeze the handle bars more .

I ride once a week on the weekends mostly since it is dark an hour after i'm home. We ride pretty hard when we do though. We rode at the Bad Lands last thursday for 8 hours w/ 2 short breaks... Blisters were brutal! My friend has the Oury grips and, was the only one not complaining about blisters... I think i'll have to try them! Now i have to find them.

The 5" x 7/8" raised block Oury grips are not in the Rocky Mountain ATV catalog but they are in the Dennis Kirk catalog for $9.99. I'm sure you can find them cheaper. If you are going to get bar ends ie. grip protectors, I recommend Moose. The Galindo's are rubber and they come out, the Moose ones are aluminum.

I have heard complaint's of the Oury's not being as tight as the other grips and, moving around alot and, slipping off too. My friend has 3 safety wires per grip, grip glue and, still says they move... Guess you can't have the best of both worlds?

Oury grips are the only ones I've found that hold up well and don't cause blisters. I wrap the bar with a single layer of black electrical tape and then fill the grip with gasoline. Use a rag to hold the grip and it slides right on the bar. After a few minutes, the gas evaporates and the tape/grip are sort of melted together. I safety wire them anyhow but they don't move with the black tape and gasoline. Between the quads and dirt bikes, we've tried all kinds of gel and finger groove grips, the Oury are the most comfortable and durable grips we've found.

If you go to a golf shop and get a regripping kit ($20) , you can regrip yours and all your friends atv's
for years , with no hint of slipping .
works kinda like the gas & electrical tape thing, but uses double sided (paperlike) 2'' tape and a
solvent like zippo fluid (which will also work) .
wrap the bar with as much as you need ( to fatten up your grip ).
remove the backing , squirt some solvent on it and slide on your grip.
takes a couple of hours to dry, but can't beat the adhesion .

I have the best grips ever. I bought them at walmart. They were made for mountain bikes. They matched the color of my blaster's graphics black and red. They don't slip off the handlebars at all. They were harder than hell to put on but I got them on eventually. They do leave blisters after a while but all grips will eventually. They don't leave black streaks on my hands like the stockers did. They look really cool too.
