Does anyone know how well an all stock wolverine performs in sand, dunes in particular?
We don,t have much sand in East TN., and would like to know.

On the flats they do pretty good and they aren't bad on small hills. Larger hills, well; they just don't have enough motor.

Not true, I took my totally stock Wolverine to Silver Lake dunes in 95, had no problems with any hills, had lots of fun. the next year, took it to little Sahara, also no problems. Just wish I had time to take it now, with all my mods, it would be a blast !!!

Whats a dune? Not much sand in these hills. Maybe a little around the creek bottoms, not enough to tell how one would do on the dunes. I would love to go to the dunes somewhere- anywhere, bet it's a lot of fun

Just have to make up your mind to do it, get a couple of friends along to help with gas and lodging, get some time off work and go. Took us 14 hours to drive to Silver Lake, and about 16 hours to drive to Little Sahara, ya,its a long drive, but that's why you have buddies along, to take turns every 3-4 hours, and to help pass the time. You won't regret it, next year, I plan to take my son for his first dune ride at Silver Lake, long drive for one driver, but I know he'll really like it.

Closest in the east - hmm - my guess is ... isn't there some in Indiana? if not, I know Michigan has some nice ones.

My pal that has the DS650 says he's going to some dunes in MI next summer. May try to go with him.
