Banshee twist throttle...wont idle HELP!!
#1
I just bought a used banshee. The guy I bought it from said after he put the twist throttle on it, it wont idle now. As soon as you pull the clutch in and dont give it gas it will die. Does anyone know what might be causing this? I think he said they had to unhook the rev limiter, but that is all I know about it.

My guess that he didn't reconnect the throttle switch to the TPS. I dare say the shee has one - most bikes do. With no swith, the CDI is told to stop sending spark rather than idle, thus the dead bike upon idle.

Does the bike still have the TORS on it? if they removed it...there will be a plug dangling, that you will not need to hook up to anything.
Start by removing the air filter and looking into the carbs...There should be a small gap at the bottom of the slides (about the size of a tooth pick)....both carbs should be the same.
Does the idle increase when you turn in the idle screws? Either on the TORS units under the seat near the gas tank or on the side of the carbs?

I will look at the carbs tonight but as for the plug there IS a dangling plug that when you plug it in, the bike wont run at all. Could it be somthing wrong with the throttle cable its self needing adjusted?

It could very well be in the cable...most likely on the tops of the carbs under the little boot(assuming aftermarket carb tops).
But check the slides for sure...you may just find that they are closing too far when the throttle is closed.
