Default 12V port

Have any of you put a 12V port on your quad? You know, like a car cigarette lighter,to use for,say you GPS system...I know that Kymco 250 Mongoose has it stock, and I also remember seeing the kit on the Yamaha page.
Does it need an adapter or can you just get it from an auto shop and stuff it on? Where do I connect it to(On a Raptor)? And does it deactivate when I take the key out? If you know anything about any of these questions please post. Thanks in advance.

You might be able to wire it in to your lights but the best thing to do would be to put in a relay that is activated with the key.
Most come with a bracket that would mount up easily.

This have a battery? I'm a poor guy on a 84' with no batt. Just buy a standard power port at any car shop. You can hook it up to any 12V power supply, but if you want it to kill with the key, just find your "key on- hot" wire and put a 10A fuse inline before your power port (good luck on the water proofing). The center post on the power port is the Hot, and the outer case goes to ground...Hope this helps a little
