Whats new with the Fast Craycraft bike?

A basic craycraft 730 with chromalloy connecting rod would run about 2600.00 and the sky is the limit from there. One of the biggest expenses is the balancing of the crank. That is around 300 bucks by its self. I would not change the rod with out balancing it. Basic 686's run around a 1000 dollars and go up from there. A 686's with stainless steel valves/port, polish, bore the sleeve, HP headgaskets, 11-1 or 12-1 piston, stage 1 or 2 cam, dual valve springs, jets, spark plug runs about 1600 plus shipping. The rings have been gapped and all you got to do it bolt it back together.

$1635 for the kit
+$100 for the GYTR Clutch kit (take the cheap way out and your clutch will slip and you'll be buying a whole new clutch!)
+ $$$$ if you go to the high end power kit I'ld split the cases and go with a new connecting rod!
+ pipe (if you don't already have one)
+ Air filter and adapter if you don't already have one
+ Carb(s) - Stockers plain suck - If you can't afford the FCR's you may want to look at a Lectron or the Edelbrock. The Edelbrock has a kit that comes with an air box - Nice looking package!
I think Craycraft's prices are very reasonable and their turn-a-round is top notch but, don't look on their web site and think $1635 and I'm done! If you look at the Yamaha Shop Manual there are a number of gaskets they suggest replacing (some, I think, are to boost Yamaha Part's sales but, if you are in there building the kit. . . do you really want to be too cheap to buy some new gaskets?
