The front cv axles are not hard to get out once ya get the front wheel bearing spindles off, they just pop out off the front differential. As far as replacing the rubber boot I'm not sure I have never done one...I do know it takes a special clamp and a crimping tool...Hope this helps ya.

Side axle has to come out, there is a special tool for putting on the clamps, alot of auto parts stores have "loan a tool" programs, or if you know what your at, you can close the clamps with vise grips and side cutter pliers.

It's a messy job if you want to do it right. When the boot is torn it allows for dirt, mud, and water to mix with the grease. The joint itself should be repacked with new grease. It is a specail type of molyibdum grease. Also the CV joint has to be disasembled to get the boot on. It is a lot like a 3D puzzel since only one ball can be pushed out of the joint where a relief is cut. Then the rest of the ***** can be pushed out one by one.

I just replaced mine. If you get a cv boot kit it should come with the clamp and the special tool to tighten the clamp. Mine did. It's not that bad of a job but it is a little time consuming. When you go to purchase the boot ask about the tool. Intructions should comewith the boot kit. Hope this helps!!!
