Blown Head Gasket
#1
Well as I said in an earlier thread I had a coolant leak coming out of the over flow but there was no coolant in the oil. Well I went for a short ride today and it got worse. Now there is water in the oil and oil in the water.
So needless to say I am going to be tearing it down to change the head gasket. I ran a cometec HP before, are thier anybetter ones out there?
And I guess it's as good a time as any to go to a stage 2 cam!

How did you torque the last one? When I screwed mine together, Bob Craycraft suggested a few more ft/lbs that the factory spec and to only use the Cometic with the Fire Ring. If I remember correctly, I tightened them all to 24 and then went up in 1 ft/lb increments to 31. I felt the head bolts stretch at 31 ft/lbs and stopped, no problems since.

Since your gonna be in to your engine. You might as well check the head and cylinder to make sure the mating surfaces are perfectly flat. I'm not that familiar with Rappy engines but I have seen a lot of aluminum heads warp.
