horsepower on your bike

Not sure, but comparing 2 stroke and 4 stroke HP numbers is always an insult to 4 strokes, maybe we should add our HP from each 1000 RPM interval together from like 3k - 10k - that would be a more fair estimate of total usable power

The reasoning is because you need more than a high peak HP number at a certain RPM because you cannot be there all the time, you must shift. When the Banshee drops from 9 grand to 6 grand the HP drop could be huge, while the 4 stroke doing the same may be little at all. These guys that hillshoot all the time need not apply .. they get it in the right gear and keep it pinned, from what I know. There, a high peak wins as long as you get it there and keep it there. On level ground where you are shifting .. you need more than just a high peak number.

thomez I guess you've never ridden a banshee.
When you are drag racing on a two stroke you over rev the motor so when you make your next shift you will still be in the meat of the powerband. even when you short shift a shee one feather of the clutch is all it takes to get it back in the powerband even when you are drag racing on the street. shee's even stock are amazing (well at least compared to my blaster).

hey 1bigdsrider, your right dyno's do vary and a dyno is really just a tuning tool (dosen't really matter how much power you show as long as you know when your gaining or losing.
Bet you would have in the high 40's though.

No, you are correct in saying I have never ridden a Banshee. I am not saying that my theory is 110% but the fact that 2 strokes have such a slim top HP powerband must factor in when they are ridden. You just can't keep them there 100% of the time... dunno. When I get some personal experience draggin more I'll think more about it. I know a stock bore Cdale that rules the big bore banshees in 300 foot drags on dirt in PA. The Cdale is probably making about 50HP while the 2 strokes must be making more, yet he still does phenomenal. From what I know of 2 strokes they have the same problem my Blaze does, throttle response that is wicked and makes more wheelspin sometimes than forward progress.
