the blasters come jetted to lean from the factory. I got a call from the dealer I bought my wifes from and he told me that if we were gonna put paddles on it or if we were gonna be in the sand at all it would need to be rejetted or it will sieze. Here is what they suggested for my wifes bike. It has a LRD racing pipe and silencer:

Pilot Jet : 35

Main Jet : 340

Banshee needle on third slot

Air box lid off

If you are gonna run in the sand, I would suggest doing this. I put everything in last night and even at home it seems to be running a lot better.

I think it is mostly the motor having to work harder to pull the paddles, and the higher rpms you carry in the sand. The dealer told me that yamaha just made it the main jet too small and didn't take that in to consideration. He also said that if your bike siezes because of that it isn't covered in the extended warranty because it is considered rider error. Thats BS, and he knew it because he said he would find a way around it if a customer ever came in with that problem again.

All the bikes that I have gotten never where jetted to lean, they were always jetted to rich. I would like to see others comment on this as well. I dont have a two stroke and maybe they are different??? But I would doubt that it would.

I would say you could fight that one. If you have your quad set up from the dealership it is THIER responsibility. Part of that stupid "set-up fee" is supposed to be carburetor setup. They'd have to try HARD to let that one slide past me. Man Yamaha has got some Shady standards.......
