Default Warrior Starting Problem

Hey guys I need some help. When i turn the key on the nuetral light comes on and the engine switch is on but when you push the start button nothing, no sound at all. I checked the fuse under the left fender but its fine. I looked at the starting switch but thats okay too. What else can I do?? Please Help!

Does the neutral light go out when you hit the starter? Does it make almost a "tick" sound once as soon as you hit the starter?
Take your seat off and check all the wire connects on your battery.

If you can, try and drift start it to make sure its nothing with the motor.

It makes no noise at all. I had the clicking problem with the battery already, that is fine becasue i checked it with a volt tester. I just does nothing at all when you hit the start button, and the nuetral light stays on all the time.

Battery voltage is a good thing to check but you need to have amperage to turn a starter. Check to see if you have voltage at the starter while depressing the starter button and how much. Electricity is like a stream and it flows the same way. Start at the source (batttery) and work you way to the starter including ground cable connections. Tight connections are good but they must be clean too. Take them off and clean them. If it checks out ok, get a same hammer and tap upon the starter to see if it will then turn over. It might be worn or bad also. Good luck!

I had similar symptoms. Mine is a 1990 so it could have been anything - Tried everything and it turned out to be my Stator. Dennis Kirk has Moose replacements for under $150 I think. Dont know how to test it, I replaced it and it cured the problem.
