i am planing on buying a blaster or 300ex. im leaning toward the blaster.but i have heard that the blaster tips easily. is this true? when will the 2001 blasters be released at the dealer for sale? are there any advantages over the 300ex that the blaster has? which would be a better buy and why? any help would be greatly appreciated. thanx.

Blaster is sort of tippy stock.
Balloon tires and a short Axle.
Solution is only 341 dollars. A Lonestar Racing +4 Axle. Then it will handle great!
The blaster is faster by about 3 MPH(according to ATV Sport, 51 to 54). To pull out more Power and Speed out a 300EX very expensive.
It's just what do you want? Save the money with the blaster and buy mods?

The only advantages I see that a blaster has over a 300ex is that it is faster(depends on the rider, cheaper, and lighter. But the 300ex has reverse (nice feature, but not needed) electric start, hydro brakes, it rides a whole lot nicer, it has the reliablity of a 4-Stroke, plus I like it better. If you have the money go for the EX, test ride them both and you make the choice.

I own an 300ex but am not recommending one because of that. Today I rode mine with my friend who has a blaster. The electric start and reverse are very nice on mine but arent always needed. I rode his a bit and mine felt like a caddy compared to it. Plus mine is just as fast as his (both stock) so dont let someone tell you a blaster is faster. Most of it is the rider but not always. I raced today and it was the machine today. Well I just thought I would tell you that. Plus a 300ex will probably still be running when a Blaster needs a new topend since its a 4-stroke. If you have the money, I suggest you get a 300ex. if not then get a blaster.

In stock form yes Blasters are a little tispy but not real bad. If you get some flatter profile tires and +1 off-set rims that helps a lot. As for being faster it is fatter than an ex but not by much. Suspension is an area for the ex, the Blaster suspension is adaquate at best, that is why I am investing $600 in Work Performance shocks front and rear and hopefully that will solve what I think is one of the Biggest problems with Blasters if you are a lighter weight rider. Some one who weighs more the suspension will be more suited to them. The brakes are not as bad as every one says they are. You just have to relize that what was used was used to keep the cost down, but the brakes work good enough. Both the ex and the Blaster jump very well and are excellent woods machines. Ride both and make up your mind. They are both great quads

first off, i'd like to say thank you to those of you who helped me with this. i will go ride them both. i think that i will spend the extra money for the 300ex but not sure.i have ridden my buddy's blaster a few times before and was not to pleased. but then i thought of the money difference and understood why i didnt get what i expected from the blaster.

i have riddin both. I had a 300ex and i would kill everyone on blasters. I personally like the 300ex better. But the blaster is cheaper.

I just got my 2001 blaster on Wednesday, i believe it was the 2nd or third one in my state to arrive. i went with it because it is not only inexpensive but responds well to Mods, which I can invest in along the way. also the weight is a huge factor to me I just sold a XR 600R because it was too heavy to jump. i don't need or want an electric starter to fix later. i want a great quick ride that can be souped up. modify a four stroker? I don't to. no amount of moneywill make that bike fly through the air like a blaster but it will last forever if properly maintained. It all in what you are looking for. A top end is a fun weekend project for me and the kids.

I have a 99 blaster, Im about 5'11" 140 and I can throw it around pretty good, I like how it doesnt weigh much.
It does tend to want to tip sometimes but thats when u lean and learn to ride 2 wheels, lol, well mines all stock still, pipes on order then the tires.
