Yeah, 400ex's are everywhere. Hell, some of my buddies are still buying them???? For what reason....I have no idea. But more then 1/2 have regretted it since. They are not bad machines at all, but they are out dated.

Maybe the new 450 will be ok, but no better then the YFZ. JMO

Somebody was even on here talking about that this past week. He has ridden both(or claims to), and said they are much in the same. But that's what I have thought since the new 450R was announced.

 

i dont think any1 has ridden one yet.. but who am i to say.. the 400 ex's are very out dated... and i see no sense in buying one...

 

they're just giving you time to try to hop up your yfz's so you feel you have a better chance...hahaha

Honda probably knew all along that the big 450R wouldn't be out till Feb. Just started the rumor about Dec release date to keep people from going ahead and buying the YFZ....sounds like a pretty smart marketing plan to me.

yeah - the last time honda said "R"..it still wasnt the fastest....but maybe honda will release yet another high powered quad that has great handling...but the yfz still has better speed...~shrug....im still pretty anxious to find out...

Too bad Honda didnt rush the engineering and delivery on the TRX450R like Yami did on the Raptor, I would like nothing more than another new quad with more problems than one can count that spends more time at the dealer while they figure new ways to tell you the repairs arent covered [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img][img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif[/img]

One thing you have to give this company credit for is quality and reliability, and it doesnt matter if its a lawn mower, POS civic or an NSX they take the time to get it right so we the consumer dont have to be inconvienced and footing the bill etc.

Before the blue blooded guys jump all over me or the red blooded ones cheer I have to state that I am not overly concerned with the whole yfz450 or 450R is better BS. It seems that this is getting way too much attention and from what I can tell so far (remember only a handfull of people have even rode the 450R and those were prototypes) these machines are going to be more compareble than either side would like to admit.

Now give it a year and let the average racer get some time and mods on these machines and then I think we will have a better idea on whats really what.

Allthough I have been more impressed with the fit and finish and reliability of the Honda I have to admit that Yamaha has out done themselves with the YFZ450 and it shows us how little effort was put into the raptor.

Regardless of what you like or prefer we are all much better off with these new models than the ones offered 8 or 10 years ago.
