What a dumb a$$

I hope I'm not the only one to ever do this.
Last week I put a new chain on my Raptor. I got the tension just the way I wanted it, But I FORGOT to tighten the 2 nuts on the side. I raced that weekend and then did some riding in the snow. When I was washing it off I noticed that my chain was a little loose. That's when I noticed that the nuts had fallen off.
The big question is, could I have done any dammage.
Also, can anyone tell me the size and thread pitch on those 2 nuts and are there any washers or lock washers that go with it.
Talk about dumb.

I dont know the size off hand but be careful with your adjuster bolts now, they are probably hammered on the end and may break if you attempt to remove them.
Its alot better you left em loose on the raptor and not an older yamaha, I know on the older ones it will egg out the wholes and never tighten right after they are left loose. I did it on my warrior and it was forever crooked.

Thanks warrior,
When I realized what I had done I was surprised that the chain tighteners didn't snap off. I rode pretty hard in the race hitting the jumps and the woops as hard as I could.

Your not the only one. I tightened my chain one day before my ride and was out in the woods trail riding at our land. I was flying down the trail when the rear wheels all of the sudden started to swab back and forth. Well the nut fell off the tensioning bolt and the bolt that goes through the swingarm slid out and got caught in the sprocket locking up the rear wheels and making the straight bolt into an L-bolt. I had to leave the bike in the woods and walk back to my trailer to get the tool box to remove the rear wheel, and sprocket to pull out the bolt and then limp my wheeler back to the trailer lugging the tool box with me. Oh did I mention that it was almost dark when it happened and extremely dark by the time I was done.
That's one nut that I will never forget to tighten again!

I knew I wasn't the only one. I can see where the bolt backed out and hit one of the sprocket nuts but it doesn't look like it hit very hard, just glanced off. I think I got pretty lucky. I was playing in the snow and getting stuck even with chains on. I was going back and forth pretty hard.
I guess I was testing out that 01 tranny too. It passed.
