Default 2001 Warrior mods, what to expect

I just got a used 2001 Warrior that is completely stock. I have read on other post that the top speed for the warrior is 62-64. What improvements can I expect from a new exhaust(white bros R4 or Big Gun slip-on), K&N re-jetting kit and a K&N air filter kit? This bike will be mostly for trail riding, but I will take it to the dunes atleast 2 times a year and would like to get the most out of it for a ressonable cost. I want to try and keep up with my buddies 2001 Honda 400. Any advice is appreciated as I am very new to quads. This is my first one.

you wanna keep up with your friends 400ex?

umm.....heres what id suggest

Take some teeth off the sprockets (Lower the gearing)
Put a White Brothers R4 Slip-on
buy the Alba 10.75 Compression Piston and .450 Mega Lift Cam kit
k&n
and you should be able to beat it/keep up with it

If you can't afford all that....go with the lower gearing and the white brothers slip on and k&n

new tires would help also.

How many teeth lower on the sprocket? Did you mean bigger rear tires, 20" maybe? I don't think I want to get too into the engine mods yet. I was hoping the exhaust, filtering and re-jetting would be a good start.

Stock tire size is 22" and i wouldnt suggest going any bigger than that. With gearing it will be cheaper to change your front sprocket, if you go down a tooth you will have faster accel. but you will loose about 5 mph off your top end. If you go up a tooth on your front sprocket you will gain 5 mph on your top end but you will hurt your accel. With your rear sprocket 3 teeth= around one in the front and the rear works the opposite, lower the # of teeth=more top end, more teeth= lower top end.
Exhaust, filter, and rejetting will give you a good start, you will be able to notice a difference.
