thanks warrior86man. i know ever since the 400s, ex's,Z's,KFX's, came out, the warrior was almost forgotten making it now an underrated quad since those new Ukis and Kawasakis have the stuff the warrior lacks, basically just 50ccs and liquid cooling. But the 400ex isnt much better than the warrior, just more up to date with the frame/geometry and a few other simple things. Most people dont realize that the warrior (along w/ the 300ex) was just about the only thing in the mid/later 90s to ride 4stroke wise.

Exactly.....and some people say 400exs (no disses to honda here) will moke a warrior like it was sitting still......that isnt exactly true...with a few mods a warrior could easily keep up with one.

But I agree, the warrior started it for Sport 4strokes....then came the 300ex.

I have mentioned this before, but I would like to mention it again. Yamaha should do some updates to the warrior, such as a 4 valve head instead of a 2 valve head. Maybe lighten it up a bit, and give it a upgrade in suspention. This would make it a awsome awsome trail riding machine. I know if my warrior had a little more go, and a little more suspension, without comprimising the indestructable aura the warrior has achieved it might be the #1 selling quad for more years to come. Just my opinion.

People always talk about handling when they don't have HP. Everytime you hear about the new YFZ it's about how fast it is not that it's one of the best handling bikes made....

hondaracer- Another 4 stroke around in the late 80's was the mojave, yes you are probably gonna diss it but it can keep with 300 ex's all day long. The mojave may only be a 250 but is still one of the most advanced 250 4 strokes today and thats not bad since it was designed in the mid 80's. Just adding my .02

You cant go wrong with either machine. My family owned warriors all my life and I bought a honda 250x before they made them the 300 ex from a friend. I am 6ft 250 and the 250x is just fine. I piped it with a big gun exhaust and my brother in law has a big gun on his and in a race on flat ground we are dead even. on the hills his warrior is slightly faster but he also weighs about 190 to my 250. They are both very reliable good handling all around quads. Go with what you get the best deal on

Personally, I would have gotten the Warrior if it head better suspension and handling, I do a lot of trail riding so that was a big factor. You can't go wrong with either quad, it is just personal preference I guess.

Lol, I've replied to this so many times. For his height and weight, Warrior for sure. They are equal on trails. Jumping and handling is better on the 300. Power and mud and hills and reverse is better on the Warrior. Simple as that.
