Default E-Series problems

I noticed my right leg was getting hotter than usual, so I decided to look over the exhaust. As I looked at the end of the pipe, I noted the section where the mid pipe connects to the muffler is BROKEN! So I loosend the 2 bolts that hold the pipe and as I took off the last one, the muffler just fell off. Looks like the welds broke off the pipe where the little piece of pipe was welded on. Does White Bros have any warranty?

PS
I might be able to have this welded back on but I need to know if the pipe and the muffler are both aluminum.

The pipe should be stainless steel and the muffler outer shell is Aluminum, Depending on how old the pipe is, I would call White Bros. and ask some questions, as long as you break it while riding, or install it wrong they should honor replacing or repairing it.

The pipe just broke around the welds, I put up some pics on my gallery..take a look at them! The pipe was installed at my local dealer around a year ago.

My R-4 did almost the same thing after a year. I had the inner tube that holds the stuffing break off inside. I took it apart and all the welds were broken and the inner screen that holds the packing was just bouncing around. I just had it welded back and repacked it and it was good as new.

You can weld just about anything if you know what your doing.

I don't know CaliRaptor.

You can weld it and ride it, and if there is black stuff around the weld then it's leaking. If you get the weld right, then I guess it would be ok as long as the pipe isn't heating up like it was when you discovered it was broke.

I wont be doing the welding, I will just have my muffler guy weld it back, Im afraid the welds will break again tough. If I can get WB to fix/replace the muffler it would be best. I just want my quad ready for MLK weekend.

I agree I would call White Bros. I have used some of their H-D parts for a long time with no trouble. You would think they would back it up because of it breaking in the welds.

I had only 7 months on mine and they said they wouldnt replace it but weld it back. I just had a friend locally do it so I didnt have more down time on my bike. They also told me that I have to repack it every 4 months thats why the welds broke. Give me a break I told them.
