I don't reccomend getting the stock one-way at all!! You will just be back in again to replace it a few months later. The one-way is a weak design, and WILL fail. Go ahead, and get the L&A one-way bearing or bearing/gear combo and be done with it. You'll cry, but at least you'll only cry once instead of again a few months later when it fails on you again with the stock one-way. Just my advice take it or leave it..... good luck

My stock one-way has lasted for two years, so if the bearing is only say $30 (which I am sure that it is not) and the gear is what $40? then I will take the chance of it not lasting long compared to $250. But if the stock one-way is $80 or $90 then of course I would spend the little extra for the L&A.

The L&A is not completely bullitproof either.

The bearings failed on mine not the bolts.

How did you get the bolts out of the bottom end? Taking the side cover off and using a magnetic "pencil" magnet should fish the bolts out. If you can afford it, I recommend getting the L and A 1 way.

I used a "magnet pencil" and had no trouble at all getting the bolt heads out.

My bearing or the gear one must be bad b/c I am still free wheeling.

I believe the bearing is around 80-90 for the oem unit. Definately check it out. I never priced the oem one as I didn't want the hassle of having to go back in at a later date for the same thing. I am not paid by these people in any way, nor do I get any incentive for pushing their product. I've just seen several people on here have the same problem(some multiple times over!), and was just trying to save you the time and hassle. Good luck, and I hope you find all those pieces in the bottom end your looking for.

The stock one-way retail price is more like $150, and the gear lists for $75. Spend few extra bucks and get the L&A one-way

When I bought the L&A unit I only had to buy the bearing(not the gear). If you have to buy the oem gear as well, then you'll definately be looking at more than 80-90.

OEM one way is $166 give or take a few bucks from where you buy it.

Part #5LP-15590-00-00

The gear is $75.84 give or take for the same reasons.

Part# 5LP-15515-00-00

The gear part # may be different for an 02 and later model as they do not use the bearing anymore.

Get the L&A one way, can't be any worse than the OEM version and it's only a few dollars more and may last 2,3,4 or more times as long. Time will tell.

Yeah, like I said, it all depends on price. I will definately use the L&A for that price difference.

Thanks
David
