Is this a normal one way failure?

I was expecting the bearing part to be bad, but it looks like only the allen bolts broke off in the flywheel.

I have only found two of the allen heads so far! and one is still in the bottom of the case. I imagine that I am going to have to take the transmission apart in order to get to the others b/c I remember hearing some rattling down in there on my last ride.

I have seen about 1 out of 20 like this. Usually the one-way bearing is still good.
What happens is the bolts back out due to lack of proper torque or no loc-tite. If you take a pointy screwdriver you will be able to get the rest of the bolts out pretty easily.
Problem is you gotta get all the bolt heads out of the bottom of your motor. Get one of those magnetic retractor thingies and go fishing. Dont run it any more until you find all 6 bolt heads.
Get new bolts, slap it together and ride it till the one-way goes out for real. The damage to the gear where the bolts backed out is not bad and wont hurt anything

Do you see the wear marks on the part of the gear that goes into the bearing? Though probably not real bad, it can cause pre mature wear on the bearing. The other damage may not be a problem, but, I would consider getting a new gear and one way if the one way is old. You can take the one way out of the housing and check the condition of the spring and you'll know how much life you have left in the one way. How much money you have will be a factor as to what you replace at this point.

I am just going to be cheap right now and try to get a few more miles out of it until I can get over x-mas.
I need a new axle worse, those spacers have warped my axles.

Well, I put it back together and even though the one-way was still in one piece, it must be no good. It just freewheels now.
How much is a stock one-way bearing? I know that I need that gear also.
Thanks

I just did mine and I purchased off eBay $249 for complete one way and gear.. I put in new gear even though the one in there looked ok. I didn't want take it back apart again even though I did. But that was my fault not the one way. I found a spare part when I was cleaning up.
