No problem shifting here.I've been drag racing standard shift cars for 10yrs and would gladly go up againt any one of you in the same machine to see who can drive what
Point is shifting is not that hard. Not sure why so many feel like they have big n&!s just because they ride a standard shift ATV. Heck once you get going you dont even need the clutch.

Umm...the 250ex is shaft driven...and it sure as hell aint a utility quad is??????
The VForce is one badass machine.......very powerful....my friend who has a 300ex,hes very small, rode one and couldnt keep the front end down........but the rappy is a sweet machine also.
I would go with the Raptor if it were my choice, because I like shifting and not having a huge heavy quad.
But then again i dont jump alot, mainly trails, and I love power!!!
You'll be happy with either one, no doubt.

your right, shaft drives don't stretch (like chains can) and rarely break, but chain is the drive choice in mostly all quads, it could change
v-force is sweet i agree, but if it flips, and i am under it, and no one is around, you know,,,,,, no one will hear the screams, and its dang heavy

yes, raptors look phat, and perform greatly, and your right, it is less work if the tranny gets broken, auto would just be considered, luxury. and maybe not, shifting takes some skill, have you ever tried shifting the 300ex, into reverse, you have to hold the clutch in with your right hand, and lift up on the reverse lever, it takes some stretchin, but i don't exactly know how the raptor reverse is set up, but i think the v-force has reverse and if it does it probably has that shift lever for high-low reverse, and neutral, like on utility quads, but i could be wrong

Reverse selection is very easy on the V-Force. Have you ever seen bicycles with a twist grip shifter? It’s similar on the V-Force. There are only three positions to shift into, you twist up for “Drive” and twist down for “Reverse”. Neutral has a notch in between Drive and Reverse. There is a built in safety feature though, you must push down the rear brake petal in order to shift it into reverse (but you don’t have to push on the brake petal to shift it out of reverse). The shifter is on the collar that the left handlebar grip butts up against, so in order to “shift”, you actually take your hand off of the grip and wrap your thumb and index finger around the collar and twist, very easy to do. It does not have a high / low range like most utility models do (and it doesn’t need it). When you hit the throttle you get instant response out of the automatic transmission. This responsiveness and the power that the 697cc V-twin puts out takes the boredom out of the automatic tranny and help to make it an exciting trail rider.
