wolverine cutting out

Guys, thanks for everyones opinion. As for me I think my troubles could possible be weak valve springs. Due in part to long high rpm runs on blacktop. I know its not the best thing to do but ya gotta do what you gotta do sometimes. My very slight miss is on the very very tip top end of the rpm range, only in the lower gears. I cannot get it to miss in fifth gear. Even on long flat roads. It is not enough of a problem for me to worry about it much now, after my mods get completed, hopfully by spring, I will want it tuned to perfection. When I replace my cam I am gonna change my valve springs as well. If that is my problem that ought to cure it. I have another CDI unit Ibought from I guy that bought it and didn't need it. He re-installed his old one but he couldn't return it. He sold his machine so I bought the new one cheap. I didn't need it but I thought if I ever did I would have it. I know it would be the same as the old one but I can change it when ever the CDI is in question.

I have a 03 wolverine and mine did the same thing last summer and I took it to the dealer and they said it had dirt in the carb. It always seemed to me like it happened a little while after crossing a water hole up on the motor but I never could put the two together for sure. I honestly thought that the factory airbox setup is pretty much crap so I decided to go with a K&N w/precharger and a Prodesign like airbox adapter. Guess what? It still does it. I have fooled with everything that I have seen on this website and I have made no progress yet. The worst thing about this problem is going up a large hill and having to use caution when backing down. I have come to a conclusion that they are all plagued with the same problem.LOL

You've been given a lot of good places to check for the problem, one oddball thing you might want to check if nothing else helps is the stator. When mine was new, revving out in lower gears would cause a skip or miss on the very top end, turned out the gap on the spark coil on the stator was not right, at high rpms, it cause a condition the dealer call ' spark scatter ', the spark lost power on the top end, and caused the miss. it took a couple of adjustments, but after he got it right, it never happened again. Just something to keep in mind in case the problem stays around. You are also very right about the valve springs, the Warrior / Wolverine motor is prone to float the valves if held at full rpms for an extended period, so better springs will definately help.
