I have read that as well but it says nothing about harming four strokes, as Brad stated the only difference is the octane level and nothing else. He explained we could run either one no matter if it was a two stroke or four stroke.

I spoke with Tom who is my vp rep and was told it had additives for 2 strokes that would gum up the intake valves in a 4 stroke. NOT just and octane diff. CMP is the next closest fuel to ultimate 4 with higher octane.

Can you mix ultimate 4 with 91 oct? I mix c12 with 91 now.

Why would you want to?

9 of 10 you never going to get the mixtures the same each time. The fuel we buy at the pump is not always the same so your performance will suffer from improper getting. So again why waste your money on fuel that is 7 bucks a gallon to gain performance if your going to mix it with crappy fuel that will hurt performance.

If I read the chart right for vp fuels, it says I should use "110"or "RED"... right? So ultimate 4 wouldn't be ok.

If don't care about the 6% increase in power from Ulimate 4.

Octane is not the only properties to consider to prevent Detonation.

Why do you like the U-4 then? (pm me if you'd rather keep it quiet)

Octane is a number that represents the ability to resist detonation so you lost me on that. I have an idea of what you meant though.

Using a non oxygenated fuel like c12 or vp red you do not get the same increase in power which is about 6%. I know I have spent alot more money than an extra $2.50 a gal for 3+ hp gain. When talking with the VP rep he is telling me that u4 will not detonate with the additives it has in it unless you boug the motor down real bad. That is not the way I ride, It's always WOT!! If you are that worried about detonation try CMP it is 104 oct. but less oxygen. I have never had any detonation with U4 and get better performance. Higher octane is not always better, it builds more heat in the engine so only go as high as you need to. mr1 or m1 is the most used legal fuel for mx racing and it only has 90 octane. Do you think they are using less than 12:1 compression?
