My Warrior with 22" Holeshot XCT's
Well, I honestly have to completely dis-agree with you guys, and based on what you've typed, your only reason for not liking them is because "it just looked goofy." Not a very good reason if you ask me.
Switching from 20" tires to 22" tires has made all the difference in the world for me. Overall I've only gained about 1" of ground clearance, but it is an extremely noticeable difference. I ride on a track about once a year, so the low profile just isn't for me. For the type of riding that I do: hill climbing, rocky, complex trails of western PA, the 20" tires just don't cut it on a Warrior. Other sport quads-yes. On a Warrior-no. Reason being the poorly designed swingarm/axle carrier really takes away ground clearance. The Honda quads (300/400ex) can get away with 20's because their swingarm/carrier doesn't protrude down like the Warriors does.
I completely trashed an AC Racing swingarm skid in about 3 months while running the 20" tires. I switched to the 22" Holeshot XCT's and a PRM skidplate and have been running that setup for a long time with no problems.
Your YFZ has a Honda-style swingarm/carrier with loads of ground clearance, 20" or 18" tires are of no concern to you. I bought a used set of 18" Turf Tamers on Douglas Black Labels at a flea market several years back for $50. Put them on my Warrior and it was terrible. I GAVE the wheels/tires to my neighbor who races a YFZ-they work fine for that application and yes, it looks bad azz.
As far as getting a run to build momentum and just gliding over obstacles works fine when there is no one in front of you. I went on a Poker Run several years ago and got stuck twenty times!!! This was because of several things: 1. 20" tires not providing enough ground clearance 2. Slow riders going way to slow not enabling a person to get a run at things.
Getting back to the original question: will 25" tires fit on a warrior or raptor? Yes and Yes
Is it a good idea? Not really
What do I recommend? 22" Rears and 23" fronts on the Warrior, 20" rears and 20 or 22" fronts on the Raptor
