Default Toyhauler advice?

BUDXXX I drop the pressure in the front tires down to 45 in front & 35 in back, they normally are 80 lbs and there the original street tires. The trailer I drop down to 40, original they are 65lbs.

The crazy thing is my truck is only a 2 wheel drive! I wished I had 4 wheel drive, but I got a great deal on the truck and, it only had 20,000 miles on it. But it pulls the trailer great. When I get on the beach I first have to scope out where I want to camp and then I get a decent running start ( I 'm not haulin a$$ or anything like that just enough to keep up my momentum) and I let it coast to a stop. I usually have it try to face down hill, so when I leave it is easy. I think its a combination of the weight on the drive axle plus, the drop in air pressure in all the tires that helps greatly. I know of a few that only drop the truck and not the trailer and they would be able to pull MUCH easier to drop pressure in the trailer.

I am going to put some decent tires on when these need replacing.

hope this helps

Johnny,

Get a Gearbox. It's the year 2004 and the Gearbox is the newest and best looking toybox out. The weekend warriors are "dated" they were alright in the 1990's. Gearbox is made by Fleetwood RV one of the nations more reputable RV manufactures. They build a quality product that will last.

I wouldn't call the weekend warriors "dated", they have redesigned most of their trailers. I just bought a 2005 (yes that's 2005) 31' LE 5th wheel and it's nothing like the 04 model. Warrior also has 3 new lite model trailers designed to be pulled by 1/2 ton pickups...something that most other manufacturers don't even consider. Buy what your comfortable with and suits your needs.

I have an old single wide mobile home sitting on some land I own....I think I'm gonna put a tongue on it, garage door in the rear...do you think I'll be able to pull it with a Jeep sport?

Yeah you could probably pull it...might be kinda slow.....How is it going to stop, your mobile home have breaks??? A jeep sport is like a light duty vehicle, your brakes and tranny are really gonna scream....
Could you pull it on the interstate??? what happens when the jerk in front of you causes you to stop...., How's gonna do going down hill???

old mobile home you say?

It was more of a joke than anything....I know the jeep would not pull it...I just wanted to see what peoples comments would be.
Does it have brakes...um no.....you could not pull it with any modern pickup...I'm sure the thing is quite rotten underneath.

The trailer is at least40 years old with a tin roof...the tires are flat and in the dirt...the thing sits on blocks...but it serves as a hunting shack or place to sleep if the guys decide to get together for a weekend of riding.

THis last weekend I was able to put the Prairie 700, the 660 Raptor, and the 350 Warrior in my 20 ft FUn RUnner. I didn't think I could do it, but turning the last two quads in sideways was the trick...

Thought you would like to know.
