You can't lose w/ the yfz. If handling is what you're looking for the yfz is the bike and it will beat a Raptor.

they seem to be cool to me.. I'll hang onto my raptor tho, it's paid off.
funny how quickly engineering changes isnt it?
the Rap used to be the 'rod and now it's kinda the 'big block trail ride' which is fine with me, I like it!
It'll still smoke anyone i ride with except another modded raptor..........but since i trail ride anyway, I'm pretty much set yup for that...

I would like to ride a 450 for a few minutes tho, sounds like a real hot rod!

So far,not very impressionable. They look like they will do well in MX,but from the looks of last years GNCC,they don't look like they will have a solid reign over that.I know there wasn't too many, but the ones that ran still didn't impress.
There fairly quick in flat drag, but seem to be a little overated, not to mention Yamaha didn't leave much room for improvement.I've seen alot of those dune videos and they look tough in the sand, but I can tell you,On the dirt, the ones around here are not that impressive, even with the pipe and cam mods.

Reliability is going to be the issue, but since these quads are new,it will take some time to see how they hold up.I think there going in the right direction with the 450,450r and possibly the 450z.anyone who was riding when suzuki released its LT250r will agree that quads have come a long way.

rajamace, I live in pennsylvania, near ebensburg-johnstown, and i mostly ride trails and coalpiles, like you say. i love my yfz. it doesn't have a problem making any of the hills, no matter how steep. it flat out hauls on the trails and the power is incredible for being a stock machine. i am VERY impressed with the performance of the yfz, but, it is over-rated, just like every other quad out on the market.

Well no **** man!!! If that couldn't, everyone who owned a YFZ would sell it for an R!! That thing isn't even near stock, it should have no problem beating any stock quad.
