Studs?

try to get 5/8 studs... my buddy put 1/2 in his stock yfz tires and alot of them ripped out.. he claims its because of all the power... i say because he needs more threads.. lol
the stock tires are soft.. so you NEED the extra 5/8... and they dont cost that much more.

well i just checked my tred and there r used but theres no way i have 5/8 of tred or even 1/2 r u supose to studf new tires the most i got for my back is like 3/8ths and for my front is like 1/4would ive never studded tires but my friend said there should be a little more tred then the length if the stud and there is no way io got 1/2 or more on my fornt and does the length count for the screw head also?

no.. the lengh is just the treads. it doesnt really matter how much tread you got on your fronts... they arent under power so they will be fine.. you want the screws to got a good part of teh way thru the rear.. most of mine go all the way thru.. they dont leak... you also need to think.. the tread may not be that big.. but the tire might also be like 1/8 to 3/16 thick.

Soft compound tires like Turf Tamers and ITP Holeshots are horrible for studding. The rubber is so soft that the studs pull out very easily. The best tire for studding is the Cheng Shin C826 18x9.5-8
