How Fast Have You Ridden?
#22
I'm not advocating riding on the road, so let's say you have about a 1 1/2 mile long driveway that is flat. Mark off one mile allowing about 1/4 mile to accelerate and 1/4 to slow/cool down.
Time yourself in the mile and then divide 3600 by the number of seconds it took you to travel the mile. This should be about as accurate as you could get. It will also tell you if your engine will live for at least a mile of wide open throttle.
I timed myself yesterday and even with my 'Shee geared one front tooth lower, big 22" holeshot xct's,loaded with PRM equipement and 220lbs of me, it averaged about 72 MPH.
