I just picked up a '99 banshee 2 days ago, its the red/black colors. I feel I got a really good deal on it. I paid $4000 for it. It came with a $200 helmet, goggles, gas can, grease gun, tons of extra oils, tool kit, jets, manuals, extra key and sale receipts. The bike is in showroom condition, and all stock. It has one little scratch that a sticker can cover and thats it, the frame paint is almost perfect, a few tiny scratches, but nothing big. Its only been ridden 5 times and everytime it was washed/waxed and he changed the oil every time. I'm going to take a lot of pics of it and put em on my web page soon.

Anyways I tested the top speed last night.
Top Speed: 100% stock. 75mph up a slight incline. Tested using a Honda CBR 600. My truck was just too slow.

I have seen a modified banshee (very modified) do 114mph(on police Radar), but that is not near a stock, one which on a good cold day will do about 75. The modified banshee was a stroker 570, billet head, lowered, ported, boost bottle, Delta vforce 2's, Carbs, Toomey t5, Methanol gas, and a bunch of other stuff. I just dont think i can go that fast on a 4 wheeler and live, ill stick with the mid 80 range, but then again i probably wont survive a crash at that speed either.

Well, my 00' Warrior hit a top speed of 67mph as measured beside my brother-in-laws 95 FZR600...So I'd say a Banshee should hit abouve 75mph...

I was clocked doing 85 mph according to my brother-inlaw who was following me in his Land Speeder (like the one in Star Wars). After we parked the Banshee, we proceeded to cruise the strip in his Speeder and see how many chicks we could pick up along the way.

87 Banshee
99 Banshee

Guys, I'm getting a contact high just reading these posts. Please... I would love to say my Brand X quad goes 80, 90 100 whatever MPH but that just isn't the case. What do you think all of the magizine articles lie and say these are slower than they are. How can a magazine rate a Banshee at 72 MPH with calibrated equipment but you are so lucky that yours just happens to go 85 MPH as measured with Cousin Cletus' 66 Chevy pick-up. And if you claim to use GPS or Radar and get a 85 MPH reading... Well, BS.
