If your want more tourque and aren't really concerned with top speed, what is the best thing to do to the sprockets. I have 14 -40. should i change the front or back one and make it smaller or bigger?

I would change the front sprocket because they are cheaper and easier to change. To gain more torque you need to get a smaller one, I would only drop one tooth.

The Fronts are cheaper, So if i were you, i would buy a 13tooth front, and if you want to get a new rear one, then get a 41, or 42, The bigger the back the more POWER, The Smaller the front the more POWER
