If you can, try taking her to the yamaha and polaris shops and have her test drive both and see which one she feels more comfortable on.

 

My uncle bought 1 TB250 for his wife to start - he now owns 2 250's for the kids and a 400 for the wife. Nuff said. For a beginner they are hard to beat.

 

TrailBlazer = Electric start, auto, REVERSE, ease of use, all the stuff that makes it better for beginners and un-experienced riders. no i am not bias because i OWN a blaster and i love it. but the TB is the better quad for this situation. and if you want more power in the future....than Hotseat, and HPD will make a TB haul. the blaster is still a fun quad, but it can get away from you if you dont know how to manage the powerband and the clutch.
