Put the best pro rider on any quad built for racing and he will most likely win or come 2nd. I perfer the yammie over the honda.Honda always plays it safe. If the companies would build the quads we want they would be all 2-strokes,like a 330r, a better banshee or a new LT500.If you don't already know the dirtwheels staff are a bunch idiots! Give me a new quad to ride every month er so I'd like all of them. There all real good I guess for 4-strokes.My old LT500 works for me.

if you go by dirtwheels tests you would have to buy a different bike at least twice a year they are way too biased imo

Badrap- LOL how true. Never buy a quad based on DW's review. Read the article and llok for the + and the - and go from there. Dirtwheels was a lot harder on the new honda than i have ever seen them be. Maybe the new honda does not live up to the hype.

14mins- even my 400ex outperforms your high dollar raptor. For a guy that owns such a limited quad, you sure talk a lot of smack. It might be different if you owned a YFZ and could actually complete in more than one category.

Dude, your raptor is overpriced and sucks- deal with it. The 450R will smoke that piece of crap anyday of the week. If you are lucky, you might be able to beat a stock 450R in a straight line, but that would be it. MX or Trails anyone, not on a Raptor that's for sure.

Contrary to your popular belief- The raptor doesn't even come close to a 400ex, much less a 450R in the all around sport quad category. Now, put your tail between your legs and go home. You are an embarassment to Yammi owners, especially those who own raptors.

I dont think that yamaha will bother upping the displacement by 10 or 11 cc. It would be too much money to re-tool all of the manufacturing equipment. Besides, they already have a performance advantage and modification advantage over the trx450r. Wouldnt be good business sense.
They already make the parts for the YZ450F. No retooling needed.

Then honda answers with the trx450. LOL 400 dollars less and 1500 dollars short of the goodies standard on the yamaha450.

Yeah i quess it is bashing.

All i can say is honda improved the 400ex. lol If honda did not plan on the trx being a compition quad why did they leave the electric start off?

You can thank the 400ex because it started this new 4 stroke high performance era. If honda didnt release it back in 98-99 where would the atv industry be now.

I have a ? - 14mins - are you going to buy a YFZ or a TRX?

No, you are happy with your Raptor? OK

Then why don't you shut the piehole about the 2 quads when you aren't going to own either of them.

The end.

Well, lets face it, this is not a Yamaha forum but it is a Yamaha folder! Anyway, Honda is reliable, & so is my weedwacker, but I wouldn't want to spend any money upgrading it! Honda does win more races becauses they can afford to hire a better class of racers because of all the money they save on building reliable, low powered machines. I don't doubt when the world ends Honda will still be around with their reliable quads, but I'd much rather crash & burn on a Yamaha! Ride on the edge boys, don't be pussies!

Truthfully, I'd like to see Honda heat up the competition a little & come out with a 650EX that's one better than the Raptor. Then maybe Yamaha would offer more GYT-R performance products or perhaps redesign the Raptor. Maybe a redesigned lighter/lowered frame, head, titanium valves for higher revs, & a partridge in a pear tree.... California dreaming.....
