Default Breeze revving too high ... Need Help!

Maybe Someone has had some experience with these little bikes. Here is the Situation:

1) Throttle Limiter is fully set (low power)
2) Breeze will still do 53 Km/h by my foremans display
3) Engine seems to rev very high when I'm ridding it

Is a high revving engine normal? Would a worn belt cause the engine to over rev? Or a slipping clutch?

Thanks In advance

Well I got the same one and yes it revs high when its tacked out. But not all the time just cruising at low speeds. I would check the airbox to the carb for leaks.

What about the idle adjustment screw. Is it set to factory spec - as in idle rpm?

My daughters had problems with the carb and it would rev way up even just idling. We had to have the carb gone through, they put new jet in and cleaner it all up solved the problem. The throttle limiter doesn't work reall good we had to play with ours a bunch to finally get is so the top speed was under 20 mph.

Well to narrow done what it could be ...

Yes the Idle screw is factory set (just tuned up)
The throttle limiter does prevent one from fully pressing the throttle
How would a leak in the air box cause this little machine to over rev?

Thanks for the replies keep em comin!
