Default 2 stroke question

it all done in 2 strokes with no need to waste one stroke for the intake valves, and one stroke for the exhaust valves just for one combustion.

Default 2 stroke question

i understand how the cycle of operation of a 2 stroke works, but what do the reeds do to the incoming fuel/air into the cylinder?

Default 2 stroke question

There are three popular types of two stroke. Piston port, the piston skirt blocks off the intake when the cylinder is sucking air in so it dosent go back out the intake. In a reed valve motor the reeds snap shut when pressure from the motor isntead of the carbs is put on them. And in a disc valve motor a little spinning disc with a hole in it opens the intake when its needed and closes it when its not, kinda like a cam and valve in a fourstroke. In all cases, all they do is stop air from going the wrong way through the system when the piston comes down and pressurizes the crank case. A 2 stroke is pretty much just a pump with a sparkplug at the top
