There is mixed opinions about that.
Generally, Boysen = Bottom end gain
FMF = Mid range gain
V-Force = Top end gain
It all depends on what area you are looking to gain the most. Once you put in a cage you should be able to use that one until somthing significant happens to it. You have to change the reeds every so often as well. Sometimes the bike can ruin the reeds by backfiring and other things, but the cage itself should be alright for a long time. WHen you put on a reed cage also think about getting a reed spacer. It works well in combination with the cage.

They are between the carb and the cylinder. They aren't hard to change at all. If you're changing out the cage/petals as a unit, remove/loosen the carb, get it and the intake boot out of the way, and you'll see the cage. It's a good idea to change out the gaskets when you're in there also....cheap insurance. Changing out just the petals is also very easy, but just take your time.
