My 14 tooth sproket is eaten up pretty good(stock is 13). I'm running the stock chain w/ this and I was wondering if I could put a 12 tooth ( 1 tooth smaller than stock) on my stock chain as well?. or would i need to make some altercations

You will probably need to remove 1 link from the chain. But this is not recommended. You should not use a new sprocket with an old chain. Your new sprocket will look just like your old 14 tooth in about 10 hours of riding. Your chain is stretched. It is recommended to replace your front and rear sprockets and chain as a set all at the same time. You can do this for under $100. (Or over $300 if you go with Sidewinder brand chain and sprockets) Good Luck!

you should get a new chain. just out of curiousity, why are you jumping from a 14 own to a 12? remember, its better to change rear sprocket size than front.

 

Because I'm gearing for hill climbs and things. And how and where I ride, I will have more use for a 12.
