Kodiak 450 in the snow
Just got a dump of snow. we have about 2 feet of powder. No word of a lie, I had snow at the top of my tires. This thing went across an old slough bottom where there were no snowmobile tracks. I was pushing snow in front of me. What a machine! Judging by te electonic speedo I was going 27 km/h. I love this quad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey KodiakOwner, I see you asked me this on another thread but I will answer here. I have rode it around the backyard before the snow got too deep but it did fine in 20 inches but it was fluffy snow and moved easy. When I first got it I took it up into the mountains and rode back to the cabin in a foot of wet packy snow and it handled awesome, coming back out was another story as it got cold that night and dried the snow out and there was not much traction and I was plowing snow all the way back to the truck. We go down several steep hills and I found that I could make it but studs would of been nice. The snow was halfway up to the lights so I think that is about a foot maybe alittle more. It is a fun machine in the snow. My old King Quad had so little clearance that I would not of been able to do what I did nor would I have had tried. AlaskaBoy.

My favourite thing is when you are at the top of a hill. You get that funny feeling and decide to punch the gas and go down the hill. (Knowing this hill is safe of course beforehand with no hidden rocks or logs) Then you have all this rolling snow out in front of the quad. the powder is spraying up. Its a blast!! It is almost like riding a mountain sled in deep powder.

I would like to compare a grizzly 660 with a kodiak 450 in the snow. if they both had the same size and make of tires it would be interesting to see how far the kodiak 450 would go campared to the grizz. The grizz would have the upper hand of course, but I'm sure the kodiak 450 would still be impressive.
