Unless I'm mistaken...thats an oil block off, not an oil shutoff they are referring to. An oil blockoff would be if you were to mix 2 stroke oil with the gas, for dependablity issues and to make sure your piston is well oiled. Some people claim the factory injector may fail causing big problems. Either way, your 2 stroke needs its oil or its in trouble.

besides taking of weight on the bike would shutting it off really make it rune better cuz when u mix you dont get the precise amount of oil to gas but with the premix it mixes exactley if nothing is clogging it

shavo- The ratio depends on what u r running. EX: yamalube- 32:1, golden spectro- 50:1
wanaply21- It does not have to be mixed precise, as long as there is enough to lubricate the piston and not to much, it will last just as long if not longer.
trinity748- The blockoff is a great idea, the automatic injection tends to fail a lot and scars the cylinder pretty badly. This just happened to my friend less than a month ago.
BTW, It is only 30 bucks for the kit in the rocky mountain catalog.
Hope I helped you guys,

I took it off mine. It took about 30 minutes. Tell him to make sure that the kick starter is in right. I run 32:1 with red line 2-stroke race oil. Red line oil is a pure synthetic. It burns super clean. Just a month ago my top end blew out. So, I made sure I stopped any possible problems.
