It would be very interesting to see this new machine outperform a 400ex. If it can outperform a 400ex then congratulations Yamaha.

I think yall need to go look at the pics and specs. It is a warrior with different plastic. Weight difference is only 22 pounds, but that can be attributed to the smaller tires, different rear shock, 3mm smaller carb, and lighter exhaust. You would be better to just buy a used warrior and put the 350raptor plastic on it. Probably bolts right up with little to zero mods. But it is not gonna be a 400 killer. Thumbs down to yamaha again. They did the same thing with the raptor 90. Same bike different plastic and price. At least the yzf450 is built from scratch instead of on the warrior or 660 platform.

I know it's faster. It's lighter, newer technology so there probably is less power loss from the motor to the wheels and there could be even more factors. How is the reverse set up? Is it like the Raptor's or the Warrior's?

The 400ex will still spank it. Why? because the 400 has 5 more cc's, its lighter, if you look at the rapter 350 engine its the same as the warrior so its only a 2 valve compared to the 400ex's 4. and the engine on the 400 has a lower center of gravity than the 350's due to its dry sump oiling system so i dont think the raptor 350 will take the 400ex at all........except maybe looks.
