Kodiak 400 choke cable pulled out

Kodiak 400 choke cable pulled out
I was rejetting my carb and did the ol twist on the carb to get to the bowl, didnt wanna mess with removing it, well got the jetting done and was turning the carb back and I think I pulled the choke cable out, felt like a small pop. the boots still on there, but the choke slide moves very easy. do i need to remove the carb to reinstall or does it push back in?
