New Blaster?

Hes right, The way we have 2-strokes now isn't going to be around for that much longer. In order to make them clean we have to do somthing about the oil sisuation. The only problem is that by doing this, like BlackandRedWarrior said, we will have to look more at fuel injection. One major problem of a 2-stroke is that there is open ports leading into the cylinder. This is all fun and games of course but some gas is being pushed right through the cylinder, in one and out ther other without even being lit. This means that we have "left over" gas moving through the exhaust ports and right out the scilencer. This is one of the major reasons, aside from the oil, that the 2-stroke is so dirty.
I hate to say it but in my opinion i think that soon enough the only way you will be able to tell the 2 stroke motor from a 4 is by the sound. If somone can design a new motor that has a sufficent oiling method, and a solution to the port problem then we might see them around just a little while longer.

DI with true oil injection to the bearings is that way to go. They did it using carbs and oil injection in the 70s and these engine are still going. The major difference is that they had a true oil injection pump that went to the main bearings instead of just kinda mixing in with the fuel. They actually do have some 2 stroke engines that meet the emmisions and have GREAT power. If i remember correctly, one is acutally in a dirtbike and/or quad.
