Default Dealer Unaware of Grizz Recall

The local dealer here in Fairfax Va told me that they are currently unaware of either a pending or active recall for Grizzly atvs'. It would be nice to see some tracking on where owners are receiving notices first.

I am the the most pessimistic person when it comes to dealers. Please don't fuel my deep distrust for these thieves. They take your hard earned money and, in turn, you get the pleasure of getting F#@ked.

Well, according to the instructions in the letter you are supposed to make an appointment with your dealer (and take a copy of the letter with you), and the modifications will be done at no cost to you. My letter was dated 1/26/04 (received it around the beginning of February) just like the one posted on Yamaha’s web site

Tell your dealer to have his service manager to pull up the service bulletin ID...........AT2004-001

The part number on the kit is.........90891-60100-00

You should let your dealer know as soon as possible that you want the update done to your quad by his shop, so that both the service manager and parts manager can prepare as to how many kits they need.

you are not the first to get frustrated with a dealership!!! beleave me, i know. i have gone round with my dealer and work hard to keep anyone i know from going there, they flat out are thieves!
as for the kit, if a dealership does not know about this by now, i would not let them install training wheels on my sons bike! they odviously do not do there jobs right. this has been posted, and all dealerships should be aware of this, if they value there customers at all!
i learned about this a few weeks back, and posted on here the day it was posted on line. i searched for a dealership i could actually trust, and am hoping i have found it. of corse he tried, over the phone, to make a buck or 2 off me. talking about how he feels he need to tune my bike first, and adjust the valves. he has never seen my quad, so i had to explain to him that my bike is finly tined, and the valves are adjusted every 30 hours or so.
hoping he gets the kits in soon.

the Consumer Product Safety Commission doesn't have it listed
as an "official" recall, mabe its just somthing Yamaha is doing on
their own so an official recall doesnt happen..

Do you guys think Yamaha will recall the Grizzlies here in Canada.
I have a 02 Griz and would like to get those modifications.

Thanks
