Default Warrior Vs. 400ex

Is it possible for a Warrior to beat a 400ex? What would you say the set up if the warrior could beat it?

Depends on the conditions really ... but stock for stock, equal riders, equal terrain etc. ... not normally. The 400Ex is quicker, faster, more agile, better jumper, better wheelier. Unless it's a race in reverse .. Warrior hands down then ..

For a Warrior to beat a stock 400EX you' d need, hrm .. for starters anyway ..

Pipe, filter, airbox, shorter gearing for better accel., high performance cam, valve springs ..

The problem you have is trying to get a heavier, less powerful quad to out-do a lighter more powerful quad.

Warrior stock ~ 18HP, 397lbs

400EX stock ~ 25HP, 370lbs(?? someone correct me on the weight?)

If you're only looking into a quad right now and don't actually have one .. get the EX, unless reverse is important to you. If it is, then get a kfx/Z/dvx 400 ..

Good luck in whatever you do

Well if you've been wanting one, by all means!! They are an awesome quad, and I love mine. I have a real hoot on it.

Fastest I've gone with stock gearing (13/40) is 110km/h, with my new gearing (12/40) 102km/h. Some call it slow, but 60+ on dirt surface .. no seat belts or protective cages .. fast nuff for me

Still for all .. if I had my time back now I would have looked for a 400ex. Reverse is convenient, but not required in most areas I go. I didn't do a whole lot of research other than reliability and, of course, availability of quads 2nd hand. The Warrior is the #1 selling quad of all time (or so I'm told), so it can't be all bad.

If you're looking into a new machine you might just want to try the new Raptor 350. It's basically a lighter Warrior with better suspension. Same engine and gearbox and a slightly smaller carb (33mm on the raptor vs. 36mm on the Warrior).

Either way .. enjoy whatever you buy and to hell with what anyone says about your bike .. as long as you like it, it's all good.

On trails, A warrior can keep up with a 400ex easily....but race them....and the 400ex will win.

that's what i was going to say, the warrior is an EXCELLENT all around trail quad, especially for the price.
