Default How does the

Several ppl i have talked to say that the major fault w/ grizzlies is that they have alot of body roll, and like to tip easily. Other than this, i have heard that they are great quads. Is this info true. I would like some honest feedback on this subject.

if you compare a irs quad to ANY solid axle quad, it will feel tippy, or have exessive body roll to it. the suspencion settings are also at fault alot of the time. when i first got my grizzly, it felt tippy to me, but after riding it a few times, i started powersliding it and so on. i also added itp rims, with an offset that offeres 4 inchs wider stance.
if you come from a solid axle quad, it will feel tippy and so on. if you come from any other irs quad, it will feel normal.
if you want to truly test the grizz's suspencion, take it through some rough stuff!!! that is where it shines!

They do have comparatively sloppy high speed handling characteristics, especially when comparing it to a Kawasaki 700 Prairie, however this can be compensated for by widening the stance a little (just by switching to ITP C-Series wheels) and by selecting the right tire for the riding environment. Even then it is just a manner of getting used to the machine. Granted, there are other IRS upper end machines that handle better with less effort (for instance the Honda Rincon) but I have no trouble running away from the group that I ride with (usually a Rubicon and a 650 Prairie) when I turn it up a notch (even with my anti-sway bar off), but then I have the most riding experience of the group as well. I’ve heard or read that handling has been improved somewhat with the 2004 models…

Default How does the Grizzly handle???

I just bought a 04 Grizzly. I have rode other machines and this is the first ATV I have owned. I would consider a novice to ATV's. I am riding now in 12 inches and more of snow. I do not feel that this stock machine is tippy at all. Hit the throttle in fresh snow and the *** swings a touch, then the front pulls and it streightens right out. I love this thing. Maybe a more experianced rider can say it is unstable, but sofar in the snow doing 45 mph I can't find a thing wrong with the handling.
