facts: stock blaster is even with 300ex usually. not a ex or z 400. altough it's faster than trailblazers and polaris sportsmans, that's just because they are so heavy and an auto tranny. so that's not really fair
however, you didn't mention the bore size. The properly kitted 240 blaster along with professional top end porting will take anything u want it to- but u'd need a hell of a swingarm. even yfz's banshee's and raptors. but in order for that to happen we are talking some SERIOUS MONEY! it's just better to buy a faster quad then to invest say 4 grand to try to be faster than say a banshee.

I speak from experience when I say YES, Blasters can compete with the bikes mentioned. It takes the right builder though. It took me 6 engines and engine builders before I found Hollywood Dirt and none of them gave me the type of power that I got from Hollywood Dirt. My last motor was a 200cc motor with Hollywood Dirts PD3 porting, Hollywood Dirts the "Prop" head mod, Hollywood Dirt 2mm stroker with Hot Rodz crank, Barnett clutches, Keihin 33mm PWK riffled and bored by Hollywood Dirt, Power Pros custom exhaust, and running on nothing other than VP red 112 octain for fuel mixed with Amsoil 2000 at 50:1 and I used to spank piped and slightly modded 400exs very easily and I also used to spank stock Banshees quickely as well so yea it can be done.
Right now though Hollywood Dirt is building me my second engine which should be able to smash even my last engine from them so im pretty excited to get it. Its going to be a 240 big bore stroker motor (and something else but its a secret ) with the PD3 porting again and Prop head mod and I will still be running my 33mm PWK for a carb. It can be done but it takes money. However Hollywood Dirts prices are fairly cheep for the deapth of work that he does.

a blaster will not keep up with any 400cc sport quad.
So basically what you are saying then a quadzilla would be equal to an 1000cc 4 stroke quad; that would be like a quadzilla racing a yamaha r1. It just isn't happening. The blaster has no low end power which means any 400 4 stroke sport quad will beat it in the low end and then the blaster never has a chance.
Hiram has it right, since the blaster is a two stroke it has a power stroke two times more than a four stroke so it makes twice the power.

For the record lets just break it down to stock, NO! The Blaster cant because its very restricted in stock form. Modded, YES! A heavily modded Blaster has a lot of potential and can be brought up to part to beat bigger stock/slightly modded quads.

Ok I get what you're saying but say you have a 400ex and your friend has a blaster and you just joke around with him about beating him all the time. well say he goes and heavily mods his blaster to like a 240 and it beats your 400ex and then you with the 400ex says ok i'll make my 400ex a 440 or maybe even a 465 then how does your friend make his blaster compete with that I mean it is already heavily modded what more can you do to it?
